Training Offer Evolution

Airbus Helicopters is committed to customer satisfaction, which is why it keeps a watchful eye on clients’ evolving needs. By gathering customer feedback regarding their needs, Airbus Helicopters Training Academy has revamped its training portfolio to offer the most appropriate training solutions to customers. The portfolio proposes a progressive approach to the training curriculum and provides close follow-up to trainees. Among courses offered, basic ab initio and bridge courses in the type rating preparation phase, refresher and new recurrent training offer in the long term, available throughout a trainee’s career. A host of other solutions, means and tools are available to support the training of your teams.

France

Located in Marignane, the Airbus Helicopters Training Academy in France has honed the skills of more than 14,000 pilots and technicians over the past 10 years – confirming its position as a reference in helicopter training. The Marignane facility includes a 2,200-square-metre building that houses the maintenance hangar – allowing more than 2,000 technicians per year to get hands-on practice on full-scale mock-ups. The facility continuously introduces and improves computer-based training tools, and strives to integrate powerful and cost-effective solutions to traditional teaching methods

Germany

The Airbus Helicopters Training Academy Germany has more than 45 years of expertise in training and is located adjacent to Airbus Helicopters’ manufacturing plant in Donauworth. Its capacity is for more than 1,000 pilots and technicians annually.

North America

At the North American Training Academy in Grand Prairie, Texas, the skills of more than 1,500 pilots and technicians are honed annually, serving a full range of civil, law enforcement, military, and parapublic operators in one of the world's largest markets for Airbus-built helicopters.

United Kingdom

Located at Oxford Airport, the Airbus Helicopters Training Academy – United Kingdom refines the skills of more than 400 pilots and technicians per year. It offers customers a range of courses both for technical and pilot training which includes certification for technicians and engineers.

Brazil

Located in both Rio de Janeiro and Itajuba, the Airbus Helicopters Training Academy Hélibras in Brazil has honed the skills of hundreds of pilots and technicians. In Itajubá, the training centre is dedicated to courses for technicians and pilots (theoretical and practical trainings). In Rio de Janeiro, the training centre is dedicated to the Full Flight Simulator.

China

Located in Beijing, the Airbus Helicopters Training Academy in China has trained hundreds of pilots since entering service in 2012. Its instructor team is composed of experts with the utmost operational experience and knowledge.

Spain

Located in Carretera de Peñas de San Pedro near Albacete, the Airbus Helicopters Training Academy in Spain trains some 70 pilots and technicians annually. It is approved to Part 147, Peram 147 and Part FCL airworthiness standards. The Training Academy in Spain’s mission is to offer customers the services that are best suited to their specific needs, allowing them to perform missions safely and efficiently.

Chile

Located in Santiago, the Airbus Helicopters Training Academy in Chile has trained more than 1,000 pilots and technicians to operate and support company-built rotorcraft in Southern Cone markets. The courses can be tailored for the various missions performed by Airbus Helicopters in this area of the world, including public security, law enforcement, military and business/VIP transport.

Malaysia

Airbus Helicopters has established its presence in Malaysia since the opening of the Training Academy in 2013 with the aim of providing local customers with state-of-the-art training means and associated services. More than 40 customer organisations from 25 countries have benefitted from the Academy’s training services.

South Africa

Located in Midrand, the Airbus Helicopters Training Academy in South Africa welcomes more than 100 pilots and technicians per year. The centre fulfils local regulations as well as demanding international standards to work hand-in-hand with customers in the safest conditions.

Japan

More than 2,000 pilots and technicians have been trained at the Airbus Helicopters Training Academy and Centre in Japan since 2012. Its long list of customers includes Japan’s Self-Defense Forces, Coast Guard, police departments, firefighting bureaus, disaster prevention and response units, emergency medical services, TV and news gathering, along with other civil operators.

Mexico

Located in Mexico City, The Airbus Helicopters Training Academy in Mexico, has trained more than 4,000 pilots and technicians. The centre fulfils local regulations as well as demanding international standards to work hand-in-hand with customers in the safest conditions. The Academy’s courses are designed to cover the full range of training needs. Furthermore, the teams can also provide your organisation with the most effective training solution tailored to your needs.

Kazakhstan

ATC offers theoretical and practical training at the highest level of preparation, the certified courses with use of the latest multimedia means, EC145 Flight Simulator of the last generation - FNPT III, mock ups of engine and other systems, technical documentation. Similar approach guarantees efficient learning that reduces risk of emergence of dangerous situations during flying by helicopter.
